Named after an enchanting little mountain town in Norway, a piece of artwork I saw online inspired this little vase. I loved the flow and movement of the piece, reminding me of rolling hilltops. I had just learned the sgraffito technique in pottery class and thought it would be the perfect way to bring this vase to life. The "hills" have a natural, textured feel that aren't covered by the glossy glaze surrounding it, so you can feel every detail of the carvings. Hand-feel is SO important in pottery, and my goal with this piece was to provide an experience where you feel every detail and all the love poured into it. A fun side note, this vase looks really cool when you put it on a surface that allows it to spin in circles (i.e. a lazy susan). You really feel like you are in a car, watching the hills roll on by!

Dimensions:

  • Height: 3"

  • Diameter (at the widest part): 2.75"
